Design Profitability and the CMS
4/28/2003
Design companies have been making websites for their clients for years, and design companies that make websites are undoubtedly comfortable with how to make a website development project profitable and with how to keep the client relationship profitable by maintaining that site once it is complete.
With the advent of CMS, companies are taking a larger role in the development of their own websites and in the maintenance of them once they've been built. That's what CMS is all about -- shifting the locus of control away from external sources and toward autonomy for the website owner. The issue for the design company is how to maintain a profitable relationship with the client company within the new environment.
This webcast deals with this issue, exploring the changing role of the design company and mapping out the new terrain of value-added services available in the new environment.
